Week #63....We need to be people who act!

Hey Family and Friends,

This week was pretty cool. We married a family of investigators this week and they are working towards baptism. We baptized a family that the sisters taught, and we found a blood pressure tester so we were playing with it haha Other than that I am doing great. It’s been so cool to see the change the gospel can make in peoples lives if they just live it. There are so many people who know what the gospel is and how it works but this knowledge gets us nowhere. We have to live the gospel to receive its blessings. It’s been cool to see people sacrifice so much to receive the promise blessings. This week was fun we were running around a lot with a few weddings in the zone. But i wouldn’t have it any other way. I love having stuff to do, people to teach, and places to go to help. I hate when we have to improvise due to fallen plans.

Spiritual thought. 2 Nephi 2:4. We need to be people who act. Not people who get acted upon. We have to be creators of the circumstances and act upon them. haha I don’t know how to explain it that good but its a cool scripture

Love you guys,

Week #62....Miracles

Hey Family and friends!!!!

This week was awesome we saw miracles working the stuff we had, less actives and converts, and through them we found more people to teach. It was cool. Its rained everyday this week. and so I got really wet haha. Here its not the same rain we are used to in Utah. I’m talking like it rains and hard, and the streets are not built to have rain so everything floods. ummm..... haha not sure what else to talk about. We went to a cool ruins place for p-day. Here they kind of use the out of country people to make money so they wanted to charge us 40 to get in because that’s the USA fee. And the wanted to charge the central Americans 3 quetzals. But i told him I had been in Guatemala for 14 months. At first he didn’t believe me but then we started speaking Spanish to him and he believed us. haha so he let us in for free. Other than that a regular week; working hard and having fun.

Spiritual thought. The book of Mormon needs to be a center point in each and everyday. and as we read it and put into practice its principles we feel good and see miracles.

I LOVE YOU GUYS

Week #61.....Inviting the spirit

Loved ones!!!

Hey this week was full of stuff. We had a baptism of an awesome lady named Nancy she is 22 and was baptized on Wednesday. She then went on to watch all 6 sessions of conference.(yes including priesthood) because she is so excited to be a member of Christ’s church. She will be a great member of the church!!!! Next went to the church to watch conference. It was pretty good but not a big fan of watching it in Spanish. I have noticed a theme when David A Bednar speaks; he always invites the spirit to be with us and to guide us to revelation during his talks. And I love that thought. He knows that without the spirit he will just be speaking with words. When we invite and listen to the spirit these words are changed into feelings that lead us to act. General conference is a blessing. This week we played soccer again for p-day. I tried on some glasses from a kid in my zone and I thought they were funny looking so I took a picture. My companion is pretty much just like the first two companions that I have had from Peru. haha but we all good.

Spiritual thought... See above.

Love you guys

Week #60 ......I am staying in Antigua, Guatemala

Hey Guys,

Transfers were yesterday, and I am staying in Antigua and I am training a new zone leader. His name is Elder Conde. He is from Peru; he will be my third Peruvian companion, which makes me hesitant because my first two were tough. But I have heard great things about him so I sure we will be fine. He is 24 years old so its been funny he is 5 and a half years older than me and I am training him to be a zone leader haha. This Sunday Elder Rosas got a call to be the assistant to the president. On sunday we went to presidents house to eat with his family. It was awesome they are cool people. So then I was in the capitol until changes on Tuesday. So I hung out with the zone leaders of villa Hermosa. They are two fun dudes Elder Fisher from Sandy and Elder Mccleary from Missouri. We cut each others hair and I think it turned out pretty good. We took some weird pictures because we had nothing to do because it was raining super hard during p-day. My zone is a super young. Every area is in training. So there is a bunch of new people in the Zona Antigua. Today we had a baptism after we write so that will be fun. I will tell you more about Nancy next week. Oh fun facts about Guatemala. I’m not sure that its true but somebody told us that Antigua is the second most catholic city in the world right behind Rome, and I totally believe it. So many Catholics. The other day I lost my wallet. It had 40 quetzales in it. Its like 5 bucks in the states but it still sucked. haha

Spiritual thought. General conference is an amazing thing that only happens twice a year. Apostles of Jesus Christ will address us and we will be able to learn a bunch. So watch and learn people.
