Week #55 .....Do not yield to temptation!

FAMILY!!!!!

EMERGENCY CHANGES!!!!!! I GOT (WITH MY COMPANION) FROM MILPAS ALTAS (15 MIN FROM ANTIGUA) to ANTIGUA!!

The sister here had some problems so they got moved to our area and we got moved to theirs. It’s been super confusing to open an area as zone leaders but it’s been super successful. When the sisters were here they had zero progressing investigators we have worked 3 days and we have 8 that went to church on Sunday!!!!! It’s so fun to work in Antigua with tourist’s haha. This area only has roads that are pebble stone so my feet have so many blisters that they hurt, and its huge. I have seen more Americans here in the last 3 days than I have in the last year and a little. Haha. The members are pretty cool and are not used to elders at all. (Its always been a sisters area). So I’m in the same zone with the same companion we just changed houses to Antigua (littlest house ever but super expensive for Guatemala. We have been blessed with miracles everyday!!!

Pictures - my last baptism in Milpas Altas (Mizael Castillo) and my companion and some cool Antigua stuff

Spiritual thought - Do not yield to temptation. I have leaned that Satan only tempts us before something great will happen. Like if Heavenly Father is going go give us a bunch of blessings. Satan will tempt us before so that we don’t feel worthy of blessings. If you are tempted just know that if you are faithful, and good things are in store!!!!

Love you all!

Week #54 .....Hitting your goals

Hey Family!

Yesterday I got a new companion his name is Elder Rosas he if from Mexico and is a really hard worker which I love and we are going to get along just fine!!!! This Sunday we are going to baptize Mizael Castillo a little boy who’s family was inactive but we are reactivating the family and baptizing the boy. I love helping people come unto Christ its a feeling that is unreal when somebody steps into the baptismal font to take steps towards eternal exaltation!!!!! I love my area haha I want to stay here forever I eat so good haha(you can probably tell because I’m getting chunky) but I don’t care I’m going to keep eating. Ummm I really don’t have a lot to talk about but I’m doing great!!!

Spiritual thought. IF WE DONT HIT OUR GOALS IT DOESNT MEAN THAT WE SUCK haha but really Jesus Christ wants all of the Children of God to be saved but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that. So if we don’t hit all of our goals it just means that we are human and need to keep striving even though its tough: cool beans

I love you guys

Week #53....Miracles

What a week.

We lost a great missionary this week in sister Ortega, but we know where she is. And we know she is doing more important things to help the children of God on the other side of the veil. Sister Ortega will be missed.

This week was tough we gave blessings to the 14 missionaries in the zone to help out with this tragedy. But all are in good spirits. We have seen nothing but pure miracles since Saturday. PURLY MIRACLES. We had no baptisms as a zone for this week and we ended up baptizing 4. We had no possibilities for this week and now we could possibly baptize 12 this week. This week I have been thinking about trials and why we have them and I found an amazing scripture in D&C 122:7 it’s amazing give it a read. It talks about trials and helped me a lot this week. Personally with some family news took a punch to the gut. (Jake cousin came home early due to injured knee that did not allow him to walk) But I’m going to push though and give the Lord everything I have. I love you guys and I love the Lord

Keep Fighting

Week #52......Obedience

Hey Guys,

This week was great like usual. We are seeing people change their lives. I got your ties mom they are sweet. We matched on Sunday so that was cool. The week’s pass by so dang fast I hardly even remember what happened. We are hardly ever in our area because we are helping investigators in seven areas be baptized. My companion is down to his last two weeks. He is ready to go home haha its kind of tough sometimes because he just talks about what he is going to do when he gets home and all that. And he is done working haha so I am doing a one-man act right now running the zone. Its all good because he goes home in two weeks and I will get a new companion. My companion is awesome, just these last few days he has been ready to get out of Guatemala. But its all good because I’m focused and ready to give my all to my zone and my savior.
We are frequent flyers in a taco place called El Pinche on p-days its so good hahaha.

Spiritual thought - We see miracles when we are obedient, but many times we are not willing to be obedient until we see miracles. Our Heavenly Father has all power and will bless us on his time frame after the trial of our faith (obedience) we need to sacrifice our pride to see miracles. If we want miracles we need to show that we want miracles by obeying commandments and rules.

Until next time,

Week #51 ...........Do good continually

Hey Buddies.

This week was awesome as usual. We saw miracles in others and ourselves. My zone is killing it. We are as united and fighting the good battle of righteousness. We have struggles of course but we always find a way to overcome. Yesterday we found a sweet dude named Erik. His wife passed away last week and he wants answers and we can give him those answers through the gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s so cool to see how the Gospel can change people. IF THEY WANT TO CHANGE. My companion and I are doing all we can to help our area and the other areas. It crazy to see the happiness that working and giving all that I have brings me so much happiness. My companion goes home in 3 weeks and we are working hard to find somebody this week to baptize his last week in the mission. Being in Antigua is so cool its so pretty and there are always a lot of people from the states who ask me questions because they think I work here haha. And sometimes they think that I don’t speak English (IDK how that is possible I’m the whitest person I know) And they say stuff about us that’s pretty funny sometimes. One time there was a group of like 20 -14 year old girls that were talking about my companions butt haha he had sat in some chocolate haha anyway.....

Spiritual thought - Mosiah 5:2 And they all cried with one voice, saying: Yea, we believe all the words which thou hast spoken unto us; and also, we know of their surety and truth, because of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually.  Do good stuff people!

I love you guys, stay cool
