Week #78 ...No room for fear!

Hey Guys!

This week was great. It’s my second week with my new companion, Elder Jacob. He is a great companion. He goes home a change before me so that leaves him with like 4ish months left. Wow. This week was awesome we worked super hard. We got to the house every night and just absolutely crashed so pooped. Anyway it’s been like 100 degrees’ all week so we are pretty dehydrated. No matter how much water I drink I just cannot catch up haha. But this week was sweet. Saw a bunch of miracles. In the middle of a lesson yesterday, a lady passed out, She had been recently operated on, and we gave her a blessing. During the blessing she recuperated consciousness. It was awesome. Anyways not too much to tell this week Love you guys!

Spiritual thought. There is no room for fear and Hope. You can have one or the other, you choose!

Week # 77 ....Fellowshipping night

HEY PEOPLE!!!!!

I HAVE A NEW COMPANION!!!!!!!! ELDER JACOB FROM LEHI UTAH.

We had changes yesterday and I received Elder Jacob. He is 20 years old from Lehi Utah and is 1 change older than me in the mission. I am training him to be a zone leader. He is so awesome. We get along pretty good so far. He is a cool kid and we will have a fun change. So this week was awesome. Aura and yonathan, our converts of 1 week. Invited the whole ward over to their house to have a noche de hermanamiento. (Fellowshipping night) I was super nervous because 1. Nobody knew where aura lived.2. She wanted us to plan it, so if nobody shows up its our fault. and 3. Nobody knew Elder Jacob because he is new. It went excellently. a bunch of people turned out. And we had a great night. also we are working with a bunch of people right now so hopefully that can progress and start seeing the blessings that will inevitably follow. Elder Davis and I had a good run but I’m excited for the new chapter here in Golondrinas.

Spiritual thought. Mosiah 2:41 its a lit scripture that talks about the bendito y feliz estado of those who keep the commandments its lit.

LOVE You ALL!

Week # 76 ....Wedding and Baptism

Hey family and friends.

WE HAD THE LITEST BAPTISM EVER.
It was honestly super sweet. Aura and yonathan are champs. This week we worked and worked and worked. It was awesome. We got the family married; no we didn’t get to go to the jail. But it got done. Elder Davis and I got some gnarly haircuts. …by gnarly I mean hideous. Like this guy sucked so bad a cutting hair hahaha. But apparently it wasn’t too bad because as we walked by a table of like 15 girls, we hear one say. “I thinks its time for me to learn a little more about God.” haha people here love Americans a bunch. haha  but this week was great. There was a tarantula in the house that my companion bravely killed. I saw that thing and was out of there. No way was I getting close to that thing. haha

Everything is great! I love you all!

Week #75 ..Jesus always reaches out!

Hey Guys!!

This week was awesome:

We are working with an awesome lady named aura that I told you a little about last week. She is progressing great and with be married to her husband tomorrow and will be baptized on Sunday. This lady has great faith and it has been an awesome thing for me to see somebody who has so many struggles to overcome them and be a follow of Christ. Also yesterday we went and climbed volcano pacaya. It’s a sweet volcano that is active and we hiked it. Its so pretty it looks like some other planet. A bunch of lava rocks and petrified lava. It was awesome. Elder Davis and I received some not so good news after we got home from pacaya. There was no water and will be no water for 8 to 15 days. So I’m on day 2.5 without showering. we smell awesome hahahaha but look at these pictures. They don’t do it justice but they are cool.

Spiritual thought. I have been thinking a lot lately about Christ, who he is and what he does. Then I read a talk that caught my attention, The Character of Christ, by Elder Bednar. In this talk, elder Bednar shares some scriptural insight that shows the Character of Christ. In Matthew 4, it talks about Jesus´epic 40 day fast and we learn about how the devil tempted him, even the Son of God. I just think, wow. I know how destroyed I feel physically after a one day fast here in the Guatemalan heat. Just imagine Jesus after 40 days. He must have been tired and hungry, more than any hunger or tiredness that we have ever experienced. In verses 11 and 12. We learn that Angels went to Jesus to comfort him, but if we read in the JST in the footnotes we learn about his character. It says that when the angles came to him, he knew that john his friend was in prison, and he sent those very angles to comfort john in prison. Wow. Jesus had just done one that most extraordinary physical acts of all time, and he sent the angels that we there to comfort and help him, to his friend who was in lesser need. JESUS ALWAYS REACHES OUT, EVEN WHEN IT WOULD BE EASIER TO LOOK IN AND TURN AWAY!!! I know Jesus Christ lives and love’s us and will always be here to help us in our times of lesser need. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Week #74.....Teamwork

Hey what’s up?

This week has been crazy. we have been all over the place trying to help la poderosa zona de escuintla to hit her goals. Right now we are teaching an incredible woman named aura. She has polio disease and struggles with walking. But regardless went to church on Sunday walking. She is awesome, and probably walked 45 minutes to church. She is absolutely pumped for her baptism; we just have to get a few things worked out to get her to her date. The biggest thing that we are working on right now is getting her married. She has 5 kids with some guy and has been with him for 30 years. So marrying them will be easy right... wrong. hay una gran pequeña falla. He is in prison... but we are working it out for a lit jail wedding hahah I hope it works and alos elder Davis and I bought some basketballs to play in the morning for exercise. So I’m pumped for that. Anyway this week has been great. Hope y’all have a good one.

So the mission has been really focus on teamwork, because there are 12 zones in the mission and some of them baptize a ton and some aren’t currently baptizing. Every one with a common goal to get the job done. It’s been awesome and I know that’s what the Lord would have us do. It reminds me of a scripture Mosiah 18:21. #oneteam
